Cyrus Griffin estate papers, 1821-1828.

This group contains three documents pertaining to the settlement of the estate of Cyrus Griffin, a Virginia resident and Kentucky landowner. One document is a lease for a plantation in Scott County, Kentucky, and the other two are decrees in the case of Griffin (estate) v. Walker, in a dispute over land on Leestown Road.

Cyrus Griffin (July 16, 1748 – December 14, 1810), a Virginia lawyer and politician, was the final President of the Congress of the Confederation and first United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Virginia.
